Things I Miss #2

Other than being my second "Things I Miss" post, this is also the song I wanted to share with fellow CF-ers during Rhythms of My Life. But upon seeing the list of songs of those who signed up, I chickened out, deciding I better not embarrass myself and worried if this song selection would be misinterpreted.

Lyrics wise it doesn't have any significance to me, its the whole song and what a song can do that makes it matter so much. We all know how a song can miraculously bring us back to the time we first heard it or maybe when it was looping in your playlist. This was my life's "soundtrack" back when I was in my last semester of Foundation year. It was then I had the time of my life being a new believer and enjoying the ultimate student life. It is also during this time that I learnt how and why we have to run the extra mile for our family of believers. And to me, running the extra mile is one way we encourage one another in our journey with God. And every single time I listen to this song or when this song is played, not just am I reminded of the times I sing this for fun in the car, I remember the time when there was just so much "energy" to do it all. I am reminded of the kindness that people have shown me and how one simple act of kindness can go a very long way.

I am pretty sure that all of us have a song somewhere in us that reminds us of a certain time, good or bad. And this one song, could be the most random of songs.

And that would probably be my story.

So what do I miss actually, since this is after all a "things I miss" post. Long story short,I miss the time, the whole time when this was my "soundtrack"...

Effort and A Space in Here

I saved this photo from Tumblr when I first saw it almost 2 years ago, was more into the pretty calligraphy than what the quote meant. Of course, even then when I read it, it made perfect sense just that what was written was far from my worries. I still trust that they wanna stay, and the explanation I always give myself is "people can be really unconscious of all these at times".

Undeniably I have been pretty MIA this semester and to give myself a little credit(is that even the right word.??!?!), I have been more busy than ever. Previous semester was my best so far, I was lunch planner etc, I was a social butterfly. But this semester, I just didn't have the time to text 5 - 6 names for every lunch or dinner that there is. I go out and run errands with whoever that is conveniently with me at the time things occur. With that said, my "encounters" with certain people just never happened for this semester if not less. Guess I should just force myself to find time. FIND. TIME. I know I meant every word when I let all my guard down and said I will mend broken relationships, but you also know right that these things takes two hands to clap.? Probably with this I can save myself some heartache every time I see those "oh shit, we forgot bout her" look when we run into each other.

I heart-heart TWINS =)

Its been a long while since their show in Malaysia ended, but I'll write about it now cause God knows how much more I might procrastinate it. I'm insisting now because going for Jayesslee and seeing them perform is also a must write, must share and this are the things that has a permit to be repeated over and over again and people cannot hate you for it =P

I went to the show (duhh..) and it was great. Maybe "great" is even an understatement.
It will be one thing that I will never regret doing. You know, having to pay for the ticket with my own money and crashing at friends' place a night before the show...
Honestly, it was worth every penny.
For me, it was sheer perfection, they sound just as good live as they do on YouTube. It was an experience in a class of its own and a great blessing to sit in the audience and have the twins serenade us all away...
One thing that made me feel so blessed that night was how they publicly proclaimed their faith. When they sang Amazing Grace, I just *floatsssss*
It was indeed a blessed night for me =))

Esther, Deric and me were the typical first time concert goers, having arrived at the venue almost 6 hours before the show was scheduled to start.
But being there so early has its perks..We got to see them enter the building with our own eyes and they were only probably just 3 feet away from us.
We also got to listen to their sound check while queuing up. It was like free performance for everyone there at that time...
It was a real set back when their mini album wasn't on sale cause I would have happily grabbed one. I even came prepared with the moneyyhhhh.!!! =.=

Gamma1 So Far

Week 2 of my first semester in Gamma has officially come to an end *praise God*. Never been more busy than I could even remember. I spent more hours in campus than at home, even my roommate left me a note saying she has not seen me for the whole week. But yea, I am expecting things to "tone down" since the club and societies registration week has ended. I saw my new juniors and truthfully, it wasn't how I expected things to turn out. All my communication skills were practically thrown out the window, which concludes my theory of why my seniors couldn't really engage in a meaningful and deep conversation with me. Cause honestly, making new friends is not easy and I am a living example of that =.=

C h a o t i c. That's the only word I can think of when asked to describe how booth registrations went. There's just too many people in a too freaking small space. And there was just so much noise, every booth was trying to attract people to their booth by making noise. Over all, it was fine, for the sake of this blog and to those who actually read this piece of rambling, I renewed my membership with CF and I signed up for the Student Publication Board as well (the interview was fun, more on that later)... I did a very shameless thing during booth registration. CF has a live band at their booth and it was there I grab my chance and whacked the cajon. Of guts and a thick face #storyofmylife

Went through 2 interviews also before the week ended. One with Badminton Club for a XXXXX post, sorry still P and C at the moment and the other, which I just had like 4 hours ago, was with SPB. Both were like casual conversations, which is how I like my interviews to be and it also tends to be the way I make the atmosphere of the room to be, even if they are formal interviews. 2 interviews in a week, not bad..hahaha =D

One concern that I do have is am I biting off more than I can chew. I am all for living varsity years to the maximum-est fullest-est but I am taking it too far.??

Beta's semester break was a good one, mainly because of IF Camp =)) The awesome-ness of being reunited with the family from Cyber. Even more awesome message. We always have a choice and that we can always choose love and choose to love. And to see people united, it must always start from you. Pointing fingers and saying so and so is at fault or is the problem etc isn't going to make things better. I am more thankful and forever grateful for the chance to really be crystal clear with someone that I have been really bitter at, I broke down for that. Man, I wanna go back to camp, but I know that the real test is now, outside of camp. My keep trying battery still hasn't run out and I hope I constantly recharge it and people respond to me before it does run out. Respond has been so so, but bottom line is battery still hasn't run out.!! =))

All in all, there has been ups and downs but life has been good to me *give thanks*

Change and Everything Exciting

2 day of planning for 2012/2013 has ended. Thank God it was productive and really glad that it came to an end...
Was glad to hear some of the problems identified, not that I am glad that there is such a problem but
more that people are aware of what might be wrong. Awareness makes us take corrective steps *yay.!!* =)

Really hope I can be a senior that is available to my juniors. I wanna spoil them as much as I could..The things that didn't work out for me, well that doesn't mean that it should also be the same situation for my future juniors. I want a change, why not I be the agent of change right.?

On a side note, IF Camp 2012 is coming soon, actually just a day away. Super super super (x10000000) excited.!!! It can be the reminder why I wanna be the ideal senior to my juniors, though the theme for camp is "unity".
